Natural Baby Toothpaste
Many parents are concerned about brushing their baby's new teeth with toothpastes that contain fluoride. Whether you believe that fluoride is
helpful or tooth decay or not, most Dentists recommend that young babies and children use fluoride free toothpastes because they often swallow
toothpaste even while a parent is doing the brushing. This presents a danger of fluoride poisoning.
Natural baby toothpastes generally contain no fluoride, as well as no sugar, which is a common ingredient in most conventional toothpastes.
They often use mild ingredients like Silica for their cleansing properties and calendula for healing and soothing of the gum tissue.
Many of them also exclude glycerin, which prevents remineralization of teeth and is also a common ingredient in most toothpastes.
Weleda Children's Tooth Gel contains Silica for gentle cleaning and Calendula to calm and soothe the gums.
Tom's of Maine Natural Fluoride-Free Toothpaste for Children is also an excellent toothpaste for baby. It has a kid friendly strawberry flavor and has no fluoride.
